23-year-old Marina looks at humankind like David Attenborough looks at fauna: something to study and evoke wonder. This slightly absurd coming-of-age film has a supporting role for Yorgos Lanthimos, whose latest film Poor Things premières this month.
People are hard to understand, Marina thinks. She lives with her dying father, an architect, in a dull Greek harbour town; the only person she allows into her world is her friend Bella – so it falls to Bella to teach Marina something about life and sex.
