Blood In, Blood Out
Taylor Hackford / US, 1992 / 181 min.
Crime drama that became a cult classic among Latino audiences. An authentic depiction of life in the barrio, it reveals both the good and the bad, mixing Chicano culture with the LA vibe.

Blood In Blood Out is based on the real-life experiences of poet Jimmy Santiago Baca. The crime drama starts in 1972, with three Chicano members of an East LA gang known as the 'Vatos Locos' becoming enthralled by the world of crime and narcotics. The three nephews, who grew up as brothers, live according to a tradition going back generations: family ties are stronger than the law.
