Blow Out
Brian De Palma / US, 1981 / 107 min.
John Travolta in one of his best roles as sound recordist Jack in De Palma’s masterful variation on Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow Up. In this dark, tightly plotted political thriller, Jack thinks his microphone recorded a murder.

Jack (Travolta) works as a sound recordist for low-budget horror films. One day, Jack accidentally records proof of the murder of a presidential candidate. To uncover the truth, he calls in the help of a possible eyewitness to the crime (Nancy Allen), who may be in danger.
