Cinemini: Mijn moeder is een vliegtuig
Children aged 2 to 6 are welcome every Sunday in our Cinemini theatre to watch animated films and play. This time we offer a programme of animations by the Russian-French animators Yulia Aronova and Olesya Shchukina.
With My Mother is an Aeroplane Yulia Aronova made a dreamy film about a very special mother; a mother who's an airplane! In One Two Three, another film by Aronova, she tells the story of a tree that's just like any other tree until one day he puts on boots and starts walking.
Olesya Shchukina draws, cuts and pastes clear and colourful animations filled with touching stories and images. In The Elephant and the Bicycle, the elephant is a street sweeper who spends all his money on bananas. When he comes across a big billboard one day advertising a bicycle that appears to be made just for him, he falls for it hook, line and sinker. He just has to get one of those bikes!
The programme also features Shchukina's Sea Legs, a film about a Russian sailor with real sea legs – once he's on shore his legs go all wobbly.
