For the very youngest viewers, this month Eye is screening four short films in the Cinemini cinema in which someone is looking for something: in the sea, in shoe shops and under the ground.

Programme

Waar is Ko? (Jorn Leeuwerink, Emma van Dam & Robin Aerts, NL 2016)
Cas gets a rabbit for his birthday. But the next day, Ko the rabbit isn’t in his hutch. What to do? Go find him, of course! Along the way, he meets Mole, and gets a new surprise every time he surfaces. Will he find his new friend again?
My Happy End (Milen Vitanov, DE 2007)
Cheerful cut-out animation about a dog and his tail. All dogs chase their own tails. One day, a dog manages to catch his own tail. They become best friends, and the dog’s life changes drastically.

Schoenmaten (Quita Felix, NL 2022)
When a tap dancer loses one of his tap shoes, his chaotic search for them takes on ever more extreme forms. We see all of these in this unusual animation.

Pond (Lena von Döhren & Eva Rust, CH 2023)
An animated short film. A shoal of herrings, adopting fantastic formations, roams the vast ocean. When seagulls suddenly attack, one small herring finds itself stranded in a tidal pool. As it searches desperately for a way out, it discovers many other sea creatures here. Now there is no time for fear: only by joining forces can they hope to defend themselves against the hungry seagull.

Eye’s finest and most intimate film theatre is a great place for children aged 2 to 6 to experience their first cinema visit. Every Sunday morning, this film theatre opens especially for preschoolers and their (grand)parents, where children are treated to a film, followed by experiments with light and shadow in small play tents.
