Iron-willed Miss Novak takes up a position at a private school where she will teach conscious eating habits. Expectations are high, and only a select few pupils are allowed to take her lessons. This ‘conscious eating’ is supposed to be an ‘ecological diet’, but in fact is just a glorified form of anorexia. The pupils are encouraged to eat as little as possible, and finally nothing at all – a goal Novak’s impressionable teenagers work towards with alarming determination.
