Upper Austria, 1750. The young, recently married Agnes feels like an alien in her husband Wolf’s emotionally cold world. The deeply religious and extremely sensitive woman increasingly withdraws into herself, overwhelmed by melancholy. Ultimately, a shocking act of violence seems to be her only way out.
Veronika Franz (of the terrifyingly good horror film ich seh, ich seh) helped write her husband Ulrich Seidl’s films – to whom Eye is dedicating an exhibition.
