Drive-Away Dolls
Ethan Coen / GB, US, 2023 / 83 min.
Twenty years ago, Ethan Coen and his partner Tricia Cooke wanted to write a ‘queer B-movies’ trilogy. Drive-Away Dolls is the first of these – a story of two lesbians in a road movie, in the spirit of O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Jamie and Marie are best friends. Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit, is licking her wounds after her umpteenth relationship breakdown; Marie is the uptight type, but really believes that she needs to loosen up a little.
