Eyeshadow: Point Break + MOOON

They may be hardened criminals, the gang that calls itself the Ex-Presidents, but they’re also great sports. With a bank robbery done and dusted, Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves like to take their surfboards to the Californian ocean to catch a killer wave. Eyeshadow presents a major action and spectacle film by Kathryn Bigelow, followed by a show by MOOON, the band that keeps the surf vibe going. Go ride that wave!

First a film, then a live show: every month Eyeshadow brings you cool, offbeat modern classics followed by live performances in the bar area that resonate with the film.

Tonight”s edition features Point Blank, Kathryn Bigelow”s ode to the surf and heist film that has action written all over it. Spectacular car chases, skydiving and monster waves about to crash down on surfers: Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) spotlights the life and times of the thrill-seeker bank robbers with such verve and vigour that it”ll make your every little cinephile hair stand on end.

More thrills are to be had when MOOON gets up to perform in the bar area. The three cousins from the southern village of Aarle-Rixtel have made a big impression with their debut album 'MOOON”s Brew', their shows and their appearance in the popular live talk show DWDD. Bass, drums and guitar (Tom de Jong, Gijs de Jong, Timo van Lierop) are the virtuoso backbone of MOOON”s surf-inspired garage blues, mixed with some cool 1970s psychedelic country sounds. Their biggest hit to date? “Mary You Wanna”, with 85,000 views on YouTube.
