Eyeshadow: Romeo + Juliet + Love Couple
A classic paired with happening bands: this time the age-old story of love-against-all-odds with a fitting show by Love Couple. Shakespeare gets a hip makeover from Baz Luhrmann: the music is loud, the pace is high. Leonardo DiCaprio is Romeo, Claire Dane is Juliet and Love Couple is… Love Couple.

This ingenious adaptation of Shakespeare's classic tragedy has Romeo raving at a sizzling house party and Juliet dying because the postman is late. All this and more to the sound of bands like Radiohead, Garbage and The Cardigans.
Put like this, Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of Shakespeare's classic seems to amount to sacrilege, were it not for the fact that the director (Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby) managed to make the clash between the Capulets and the Montagues as visually convincing as a theatre performance of the play by the Bard.
Love Couple
The four-strong band is unique: rock-solid harmonic vocals mixed with eighties sounds and a smart nineties attitude. The powerful girl singer and singing drummer make a dynamic front pair; bolstering the two are deep bass and grungy guitar riffs. Love Couple says: we like to demolish pop songs.
