Peter Delpeut’s first feature film about the photographer Felice who returns to Japan to find his lover O-Kiku is an aesthetically balanced quest or the hard to comprehend rituals of this Asian culture. Felice’s nostalgic letter to his brother Antonio describes his deep desire for O-Kiku and his impotence in the old, yet rapidly changing Japan where his journey takes in Nagasaki, Moji, Onomichi, Mount Fuji, Yokohama and Tokyo. Places they once visited together where he no longer understands the people.
