Gloria
John Cassavetes / US, 1980 / 122 min.
Gena Rowlands was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Gloria, the woman who risks everything to bring the child of a murdered mob bookkeeper to safety. John Cassavetes created this portrait of a warm, caring woman, who nevertheless learns to kill.

Gloria Swenson wanders the streets of New York with the six-year-old kid from next door in tow, because his parents have been killed by the mob. As the sole witness, he has to disappear. What to do? Luckily, Gloria the ex-con is pretty streetwise.
