Today is Groundhog Day, that special day when it’s up to a groundhog to predict the length of winter. Grumpy weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is caught in time and keeps reexperiencing the day he detests. Comedy in the spirit of Frank Capra means absurd plot twists and inner catharsis.
Cynical weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray), who is originally from Pittsburgh, works for the local TV in Punxsutawney and hates the day he has to report on that most hokey of all American traditions: Groundhog Day. If, when the groundhog emerges on 2 February, it is frightened by its own shadow, it will be winter for another month and a half.
