Spike Jonze’s Her brings home how alienating digital love can be. Recently divorced author Theodore tries to mitigate his existential suffering by finding a new woman. Her name is Samantha and she exists in his computer as an empathic control system. Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson give shape to the near future, the camera work is by the Swedish-Dutch cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema.
Sandy Seifert will give a short performance (in English) to accompany the November 13 screening of Her.
