In Cold Blood
Richard Brooks / US, 1967 / 134 min.
In Cold Blood is based on the eponymous book for which author Truman Capote interviewed the murderers of a farmer’s family. Richard Brooks turned the latter into a masterful black & white film with contrast-rich camera work that reconstructs the senseless murder.

In 1959, two ex-cons attacked a farm in Holcomb, Kansas and killed farmer Herbert Clutter, his wife and their two kids. The huge sum of money they thought to steal couldn’t be found and they fled to Mexico. Perry Smith and Dick Hickock are soon viewed as suspects and were ultimately executed in 1965.
