Juste un mouvement
Vincent Meessen / BE, FR, 2021 / 108 min.
In his freewheeling documentary, Vincent Meessen paints a layered portrait of Omar Blondin Diop, the Black activist philosophy student from Jean-Luc Godard’s La Chinoise, who died in a Senegalese prison.
At the end of the ’60s, celebrated nouvelle vague director Jean-Luc Godard depicted a milieu of young, violent revolutionists inspired by Mao's Little Red Book in La Chinoise. The film is a stylish, daring experiment; a surprising mix of fiction film, political analysis, pamphlet and documentary.
