Never-before-screened recordings of Herman Brood songs and rediscovered footage from the chaotic shoot of the film Cha-cha form the basis of this documentary on the tempestuous Amsterdam pop scene of the late ’70s. Screens 25 years after Brood’s death.
In 2015, Eye acquired the archive of director Herbert Curiël (1927): boxes full of papers, documents and cuttings. One surprising find was the film and audio material from his film Cha-cha (1979), starring Herman Brood and Nina Hagen.
