Lyrical masterpiece about a Tuscan village at the close of World War II full of black humour and surrealist scenes that won the Jury Prize in Cannes in 1982. In memory of Paolo Taviani, who died earlier this year.

The Italian director Paolo Taviani and his brother Vittorio were responsible for classics including the Golden Palm winning Padre padrone (1977) and the Pirandello adaptation Kaos (1984). The former, who died on 29 February 2024, was the last of the brothers to pass away.
