Slovenian director Urška Djukić’s feature debut is a sensual, intimate coming-of-age drama about sexual awakening and Catholic guilt. 16-year-old introvert Lucia gets to know the far more liberated Anna-Maria; Djukić captures the tension between the pair in dreamlike images.
Lucia joins the girls’ choir at her Catholic school, where she makes friends with the more liberated Ana-Maria. Her jokes and just-go-ahead-and-do-it attitude make everything fun and exciting, and the more timid Lucia is irresistibly attracted to her.
