The selection of over thirty titles showcases films across many genres, from comedy to deeply felt drama, from underground experimentation to joyful manifestos. From the Weimar Republic–era production Mädchen in Uniform (Carl Froelich and Leontine Sagan, 1931) and John Waters’ notorious Pink Flamingos (1972), to The Adventures of Iron Pussy (Apichatpong Weerasethakul, 2003) and Rains over Babel (Gala del Sol, 2025), a psychedelic queer adaptation of Dante’s epic poem Inferno.

Previously Unreleased Goes Queer
With Previously Unreleased, Eye presents a special nationwide summer selection of films that screened at major festivals but never made it to Dutch cinemas. Four of this year’s titles are part of Queer Power. The programme includes recent work by international queer filmmakers such as Orian Yani Barki & Meriem Bennani (Bouchra) and Giovanni Tortorici (Diciannove). Also showing is the (restored) underground classic The Watermelon Woman (1996) by Cheryl Dunye.
