Miller's Crossing
Joel Coen / US, 1990 / 113 min.
The Coen Brothers' tribute to the film noir, full of visual flair and absurdist plot developments. Gangsters, gamblers, intrigue and deceit, American style.

There are crime films and crime films. Directors galore who can deliver slick, hard-boiled excitement and action, but authors like the Coen Brothers able to mould the genre are a rarer breed.
Gangster Leo is supposed to get rid of a small-time crook, business as usual, it would seem. But the target turns out to be the brother of the woman Leo”s in love with; and his sweetheart's involved with Leo”s sidekick and right-hand man… it sparks off a gang war in the city. With Gabriel Byrne, Marcia Gay Harden and John Turturro.
