Cinedans Festival 2022
The Dutch Dance film is growing in popularity with creators from various disciplines. Cinedans FEST presents a selection of the best new Dutch dance films. Each screening will be concluded with a short Q&A with the makers and audience.

Film made in a project by Cinedans and the Modern Dance Group for Seniors led by dance teacher and choreographer Sanne Fokkens. The dancers wrote the script, created the choreography and edited the film themselves. In their dance film, they express how they experience living in the North of Amsterdam.

A visit to the swimming pool brings back Imaani's dark memories of a sexual assault. In order to defeat her inner demons and overcome the past, Imaani will have to face her trauma.
SHE 2.0 (NL 2021, 18')

Choreography: Wennah Wilkers
SHE 2.0 is a poetic portrait about a young Amsterdam-based Filipino–Dutch artist named Wennah Wilkers. In search of her artistic identity, she dives into her personal experiences, inspirations, cultural influences and values. Within this search, she unearths deep feelings originating from her relationship with her mother.
WO_MAN (NL 2021, 5')

The Three Graces, from Greek and Roman mythology, were the favourite subject of many male artists. Who are these women if not viewed from the male gaze? In the film we see three completely different characters who together represent The WO_MAN: looking for their role in the public domain.
L'heure bleue (NL 2022, 24')
Director: Stefan Mandersloot, Danielle Huyghe
Choreography: Danielle Huyghe
For the two women who struggle with sleeping problems, the night is their greatest fear. When the sun goes down and the moon takes its place, they have to go to sleep. Instead, they are battling with themselves and the night; lie tossing and turning in their beds.
