Werner Herzog did it (Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht); Francis Ford Coppola did it (Bram Stoker’s Dracula) and Roman Polanski did it (The Fearless Vampire Killers). Now it’s Robert Eggers’ turn (The Lighthouse, The Witch) to delve into the psyche of the vampiric Count from Transylvania and the soul of the young woman the vampire has set his bloodthirsty heart on.
