Once Upon a Time in the West
Sergio Leone / IT, US, 1968 / 166 min.
Leone’s famous spaghetti western has been digitally restored. The female lead role was for Italian film diva Claudia Cardinale, who is surrounded in this classic by Hollywood stars Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson and Jason Robards. I.M. Claudia Cardinale.

Once Upon a Time in the West (C'era una volta il West) was the conclusion to Sergio Leone's ode to the western as a genre, which would become incredibly popular as so-called spaghetti westerns. After three iconic productions featuring Clint Eastwood (A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) Leone (1929 - 1989) cast Italian film star Claudia Cardinale (1938 - 2025) as the protagonist alongside three worn western leads: bad guy Henry Fonda, enigmatic saviour Charles Bronson and Jason Robards as the tough guy.
