Picnic at Hanging Rock
Peter Weir / AU, 1975 / 115 min.
During a hiking trip, three Australian girls vanish without trace into a chasm in Hanging Rock. Peter Weir’s tale of this sudden disappearance is still regarded as one of the best films on the mysterious relationship between man and nature. New 4K restoration.

Four boarding-school girls and their teacher from Appleyard College go on a nature hike on Valentine’s Day. The girls want to hike up the mountain at Hanging Rock, a 6-million-year-old rock formation in the Australian landscape. Three of the four disappear without trace; another teacher who sets out to search for the missing also vanishes completely.
New 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by director Peter Weir and director of photography Russell Boyd.
