Programme

  • still Questbound: Forbidden Ventures of the Undead Soul (Alexander Bierling & Owen Buckley, 2022)

Questbound: Forbidden Ventures of the Undead Soul (Alexander Bierling & Owen Buckley, 2022, 9')

An ancient, immortal king misinterprets a noble knight's intentions and accidentally flirts with a married man.

  • still A Double Life (Job, Joris & Marieke, 2018)

    A Double Life (Job, Joris & Marieke, 2018, 2')

A man and a woman decide to play a game of role reversal. A massive joke to the man, but deeply earnest for the woman. The latter has her appearance surgically altered to that of her partner, whom she then replaces.

  • still I Love Hooligans (Jan-Dirk Bouw, 2013)

    I Love Hooligans (Jan-Dirk Bouw, 2013, 12’)

A football hooligan feels unconditional love for his team; however, he has to keep his identity secret because he is gay.

  • still Thuiskomen (Britt Planken, 2024)

    Thuiskomen (Britt Planken, 2024, 3’)

A short animation of interviews with people who identify as queer and feel connected to the LGBTQ+ community. Combined, the conversations touch on a much bigger question: what exactly constitutes queer happiness?

  • still Hey Tiger (Martha Colburn, 1996)

Hey Tiger (Martha Colburn, 1996, 3’)

A short film by extraordinary animator Martha Colburn with a leading role for Baltimore’s sex symbol and paranormal performer Meduza. The latter’s striptease, originally shot in black and white on Super8 stock, is brought to life using Colburn’s characteristic live-action animation. The super raw soundtrack was provided by the Dramatics (M. Colburn and J. Willett).

  • still Quod Libet (Gerrit van Dijk, 1977)

Quod Libet (Gerrit van Dijk, 1977, 8’)

A series of arousing transformations. A lady lustfully sucks someone’s cock. A tube of toothpaste has an orgasm.

  • still A Story Of Unfolding Wings (Stellata Koppe, 2025)

A Story Of Unfolding Wings (Stellata Koppe, 2025, 5’)

Stellata Koppe’s discovery that she didn’t really feel like a man meant upending her life. She changed her identity, her body and her artistic practice. This short, abstract stop-motion film consists of colourfully woven frames. Koppe created a sensitive journal of her transition by weaving images for the film on a loom – with the indispensable violin sounds of Eefje Habraken.

  • still Cat’s Amore (Martha Colburn, 2002)

    Cat’s Amore (Martha Colburn, 2002, 3’)

A hand-coloured animation that reveals our animal instincts during a hot scene featuring dancing female cats and dogs, all hungry for romance. The soundtrack consists of Jac Berrocal’s French-language cover of ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’.

  • still Immature (Eddy Wu, 2024)

    Immature (Eddy Wu, 2024, 6’)

A colourfully animated documentary examining the fluidity and complexity of gender identity. The film immerses itself in transgender gay man’s experiences, capturing the fine nuances of the search for the self.

  • still Airborne (Nigel Lievaart, 2025)

    Airborne (Nigel Lievaart, 2025, 11’)

During a free fall at the funfair, Jason gets butterflies in his stomach about his best friend Niels. A decade later, the event still remains unspoken. How about now, that they are back at the funfair together? Niels wants to tell him something in the hall of mirrors. Tender debut animation.

  • still Fruity (Selwin Vervoort, 2019)

    Fruity (Selwin Vervoort, 2019, 1')

Follows Lucas’ thoughts as he becomes afraid of losing his masculinity after eating some pink fruit. This dialogue-free film is about insecurity, is juicy and slightly erotic, full of organic movements, transitions and metamorphoses.

All films but one are either spoken or subtitled in English.
