IDFA 2026
Past, present and future collide in these hybrid cinematic fables, exploring the transformative space between reality and fantasy as they drift through transcendent landscapes.

Programme

From a Vertebral Collapse Mountains Arose
A poetic film about a woman with scoliosis and her history with the condition. Her own words accompany nostalgically filtered footage from past and present, offering insight into her struggles and ultimately leading her to liberation.

Six Weeks, 3 Days and All the Years Before
A visual letter from the director to her unborn child. In magical black-and-white imagery, she tells the story of her own father, who disappeared during her childhood and reappeared years later a changed man.

One Early Morning, the Alligator Swallowed Me
A confident student film that breathes new life into a northern Colombian legend about a man who could transform into an alligator, through an enigmatic portrait of a solitary fisherman. Past and present, reality and fiction blur into one another.

The Unabsorbed Past
In a landscape shaped by dragon fruit plantations, colonial tiger hunts by men in pith helmets, and weary wind turbines, a storm is brewing. Human and superhuman forces from present, past, and future threaten to collide.
