A group of Estonian women sit in a steaming hot sauna in the woods swapping stories. An opulent, unsentimental film about femininity, solidarity and the exceptional community of sauna culture, recorded with unusual intimacy.
A voice shrouded in smoke and steam tells us that a smoke sauna is a sacred place where you can cleanse your spirit. But who does the voice belong to? A mother, a grandmother, Mother Earth? In a heated wooden sauna in the middle of the woods, a group of women meet and share their experiences and most personal stories, framed by their naked bodies in marvellous close-ups.
