Walter Salles / US, DE, GB, AR, 2004 / 126 min.
As a student Che – then still Ernesto – Guevara travelled across South America on an old Norton motorcycle. Screening accompanying Walter Salles’ latest film, I’m Still Here. Based on Guevara and his travelling companion Alberto Granado’s diaries.

Road movie and exceptional portrayal of Ernesto Guevara’s youth in which the medical student – a member of the middle classes – becomes aware of the injustice in the world.
1952: Ernesto Guevara left Buenos Aires for a nine-month journey across South America accompanied by his slightly older friend, the biochemist Alberto Granado. Their eyes are opened to the poverty, impoverishment and powerlessness of the working classes as well as the oppression of indigenous people.
