Un homme et une femme
Claude Lelouch / FR, 1966 / 102 min.
A man, a woman, a chance encounter. Nothing more is needed for a ‘belle histoire d’amour’, as the French would say. Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimée explore one another cautiously, love passionately and then let go – resulting in a Golden Palm and two Oscars.

He’s a racing driver, she works as a script girl. When they meet at their children’s boarding school, romance blossoms. Cautiously, as they have both lost their previous partners. Can love flourish again? And will it last?
