Video installation essay in which a deepfake algorithm manipulates the viewer’s image, live. Personal confrontation with AI technology and a meditative intervention about what the self and your self-image are. This interactive film dissolves your self-image and explores the importance of the other when you reflect on yourself. You do so led by philosopher Mogobe Ramose.
CAVES (Alex Raúl, Bats Bronsveld & Charleton Mercelina, 2024, 7’)
In CAVES you hear a choral composition in a virtual cave, using the environment’s special acoustic properties. You are immersed in a deep listening experience while a group of virtual cave dwellers perform their evening ritual. The complex choral harmonies were recorded using 3D audio techniques.
