This winner of the Jury Prize in Cannes is seen as one of the highlights of African cinema. Yeelen is set in Mali during the 13th century, and is based on an ancient legend passed on by word-of-mouth. In memoriam Souleymane Cissé, who recently passed away. 2K-restored version.

Souleymane Cissé, the legendary Malian director who passed away on 19 February at the age of 84, was part of the groundbreaking generation of African filmmakers, alongside the likes of Ousmane Sembène and Sarah Maldoror.

Restored in 2k by Souleymane Cissé's production company, Les Films Cissé.
