Who Are You?: AI Echo Archive Workshop

This workshop invites you to explore stories through the lens of AI, drawing on existing footage. You'll get to work with AI tools to remix, reinterpret and transform historical material or your personal photos into new visual and narrative forms.

In this workshop by Abner Preis (240') we’ll explore the intersection of memory, history, and imagination, using AI to reinterpret and remix archival material. From social themes to personal memories, our chosen topic will inspire an array of creative expansions through visuals, text, and sound.

This workshop encourages critical thinking about authenticity, representation, and the changing role of AI in storytelling, while gaining hands-on experience with creative AI technologies. You work together in a small group on a short AI film with AI tools such as Runway ML, DALL·E, ChatGPT and Soundraw/Boomy.

The workshop is led by Abner Preis who has a background in installation art, virtual sculptures, interactive performances, virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive experiences. He tells stories that you feel before you understand them, and that spark the imagination with images that play with emotion before aesthetics.
