Almost Famous
Cameron Crowe / US, 2000 / 123 min.
Crowe won an Oscar for this very amusing coming-of-age-story about a 15-year-old journalist who goes on tour with an up-and-coming rock band in the early 1970s, loosely based on Crowe’s own experiences as a teenage Rolling Stone author. Also features Frances McDormand.
In 1973, Rolling Stone magazine gives 15-year-old fanatical music lover William Miller the unique opportunity to interview up-and-coming band Stillwater and join them on tour. Led by guitarist Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and singer Jeff Bebe (Jason Lee), William commences a wild ride that will change his life despite his overprotective mother’s misgivings (Frances McDormand).
