De wisselwachter
Jos Stelling / NL, 1986 / 97 min.
Filmmaker and visual artist Felix De Rooy has chosen Jos Stelling’s Golden Calf-winning story of a solitary pointsman (Jim van der Woude) who becomes fascinated by a mysterious woman. Few words, but lots of body language.
A woman (Stéphane Excoffier) gets off a train at a deserted railway station in the middle of nowhere, as the saying goes. The pointsman – a man who has hardly any contact with the outside world – becomes enchanted by a character who completely disrupts his day-to-day existence. But he’s not the only one: the postman also seems taken with this city lady, putting an end to the bucolic peace and quiet…
