Killer's Kiss
Stanley Kubrick / US, 1955 / 67 min.
Kubrick made good use of the film noir genre for some exciting visual experimentation. A boxer tries to save a dancer from her violent employer. This independent production, with an ultra-low budget, exposes the seamy side of 1950s New York.

Stanley Kubrick was undeniably fascinated by stylised violence. In his second feature film, a boxer gets into a relationship with a dancer whose jealous lover exhibits murderous tendencies. Featuring a memorable action scene in a mannequin warehouse – the first of many violent scenes in Kubrick’s career.
