Leiden University: Disconnecting in a personal dystopia
Leiden University: Disconnecting in a personal dystopia
Students of Leiden University invite you to step into this ritual of Connection. As individuals are continually pushed into isolated personal dystopia, how might connection become once again perceptible, tangible, imaginable?

In the absence of sufficient understanding, the inner worlds each person constructs grow ever more enigmatic, more elusive, more difficult to reach. We long to enter(reach) the dystopia of others, yet we also fear being swallowed by a reality that lies outside our own.
As everything advances at a speed beyond imagination, are we truly prepared to face what is coming?
What our program presents is not a collection of images about disconnection, but a series of private spaces where the order of reality momentarily falters—spaces in which the intimate bathroom, somnolent murmurs, and a vast revolving city become prisms that refract humanity’s unending desire for connection.
Come, friends. We invite you to step into this ritual of Connection. In the dimness of the room, in your encounter with others, let us reflect together: as individuals are continually pushed into isolated personal dystopia, how might connection become once again perceptible, tangible, imaginable?
