IDFA 2022: Not Yet Yes Workshop: Everything is queer if I say it many times
The artist Agustín Ortiz Herrera invites you to participate in a collective workshop experience, in which we, through conversationa dn a practical filming session, would like to address questions about the notion of "document". What is it exactly? How is it configured in a cultural context? How political is it? Can it be made with a queer perspective?
The artist Agustín Ortiz Herrera invites you to participate in a collective workshop experience. In this session, we would like to address questions about the notion of "document". What is it exactly? How is it configured in a cultural context? How political is it? Can it be made with a queer perspective? Documentary films are usually perceived with a strong sense of reality. The facts are shown and the spectator link their acknowledgement with the identification of veracity. But, how real is a documentary? How the filmic memory works? How is it received?
In this workshop, we address this batch of questions and try to elaborate a collective strategy to shed some light on the issue. The workshop also proposes a practical filming session, where the participants will experiment with producing a film "document" incorporating all the discussed problematics.

About Agustín Ortiz Herrera
Agustín Ortiz Herrera’s artistic practice is developed in the fields of audiovisual, performance, and installation. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, and filmmaking at The New School University in New York.
After a period working as a screenwriter, he returned to artistic practice by completing the Master of Fine Arts at the Konstfack College of Arts in Stockholm. He recently has been exhibiting his art work in Spain, Sweden, and Norway. In 2021, his work Fungi Fantasy and their friends Crazy Bacteria was acquired by the MACBA (Barcelona Contemporary Art Museum) collection.
