Spine-chilling psycho thriller Spoorloos marked George Sluizer’s international breakthrough. The fame of this classic starring Johanna ter Steege even reached America, where the film was lauded as ‘worthy of Hitchcock’. Four years later, Sluizer was able to make the remake, The Vanishing (1993).
