We Need to Talk About Kevin
Lynne Ramsay / GB, US, 2011 / 108 min.
Radically stylised, psychological drama based on Lionel Shriver’s novel. Tilda Swinton’s role as the mother of a sociopathic teen is a tour de force. Spine-chillingly good. Also features John C. Reilly as Eva's naive husband.

Eva (Tilda Swinton) is a travel writer who gives up her bohemian lifestyle when she unexpectedly becomes pregnant. Her relationship with her son Kevin is difficult from the start. Kevin develops from a needy baby into a difficult, demanding toddler (Rocky Duer) and then into a sociopathic teen (Ezra Miller). Aged 15, Kevin commits an irrational act of violence that shocks the whole community.
