Constantin Costa-Gavras / FR, DZ, 1969 / 127 min.
A socialist foreman (Yves Montand) is run over by a truck. The examining magistrate (Jean-Louis Trintignant) suspects a right-wing plot. Costa-Gavras’ political thriller about the run-up to the Greek junta won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. In memory of Jean-Louis Trintignant.

Immediately after the student uprisings in Paris, the socio-politically committed Costa-Gavras shot this engrossing political thriller Z (1969), a scarcely disguised film about the Greek junta.
