Donating material to Eye

Do you have film or film-related materials that you would like to donate to Eye, or would you like to know what the options are? Materials we add to the collection are stored safely and sustainably, ensuring it remains accessible to future generations.

What Eye collects
Eye’s collection focuses on Dutch film and, more broadly, on Dutch film culture. Within this context, Eye collects films and film-related objects, such as equipment and posters. Examples include:

We always accept silent film—so-called nitrate film.
Historical amateur film, especially 16mm
Self-produced fiction films
Equipment
Books and magazines
Personal archives, photographs, and posters

Eye does not collect

TV series or films purchased ready-made on small-gauge film, video, or DVD.
Home movies shot abroad
Personal recordings of television programmes/films
8mm films of unknown content and creator
Playback or recording equipment for home use
