Grant applications must always be submitted to SEE NL prior to the festival; the sum allocated will depend on available budget and the total number of Dutch films selected for the festival in question. As a result, the amount of the grant awarded will vary according to how many films have been selected for a given festival.

SEE NL seeks to promote Dutch film abroad by awarding publicity and promotion grants to Dutch films that have been selected for A-film festivals.

SEE NL together with the Netherlands Film Fund can provide extra high promotional grants for feature films or long documentaries whose world première take place within the main competition of any of the film festivals listed below. Applications must be made to SEE NL; they are not processed by the Netherlands Film Fund. Here too, requests for these grants must be submitted prior to the festival.

- Venice International Film Festival (Venice Official Competition, Orizzonti)

Other conditions
- The official festival invitation must be submitted with the application.
- This scheme is only available to Dutch productions or co-productions with a majority Dutch stake. Minority co-productions are not eligible.
- The films selected by the festival are intended for theatrical release and are supported by the Netherlands Film Fund.
- Grants are intended for the expenses incurred in promoting the film internationally at the festival in question; these might include publicist costs, online marketing campaigns, advertising space, design/printing, market screening, etc.
- The grant amount awarded may vary based on the number of films selected per festival and the available budget.
- These expenses must not have already been funded by SEE NL or a third party.
- Applications should preferably be submitted at least four weeks before the start of the festival. They should always be submitted in advance of the festival via international@eyefilm.nl.
