Eye has invited ten guest curators to create talks, events and performances. Black Light also features theatre, dance, interviews and round table talks.
Black Light highlights the representation of black identity in films, from 1920 to the present.
For Black Light Eye has invited guest curators who, based on their specialism, present an evening around black identity in film and pop culture, including Marjorie Boston and Maarten van Hinte (RIGHTABOUTNOW INC.), Greg de Cuir Jr. (curator), Judith Leysner (artist, founder and director of NEVERNEVERLAND), Martine Dekker and Azu Nwagbogu (Cinedans), Roelof Jan Minneboo (screenwriter) and Ivan Barbosa (filmmaker).
Eye shows a selection of the program of the same name that curator Greg de Cuir Jr. compiled for the Locarno Film Festival.
