Eye recently restored six films by Eric de Kuyper and pays homage to the Filmmuseum’s former deputy director from 8 through 10 February.

He once jokingly referred to himself as a ‘mess of talents’ and a man who had never managed to embark on a ‘real career’. It’s surely his way of ironizing his extraordinary versatility as an erudite film lecturer, writer, filmmaker and programmer.

‘Filmic passions’ features all films by Eric de Kuyper, from Casta Diva to his latest film My Life as an Actor (2015), and also includes a number of programmes created in collaboration with De Kuyper – largely from Eye’s collection – which highlight his passion for film, opera, dance and music.

Eric de Kuyper and cast and crew members of his films will introduce and attend the screenings.
