Cineminimaxi: Draak Dries
The makers of The Gruffalo made this funny, endearing film about Dries, a young dragon who wants to do more than he is capable of.

For all lovers of Cinemini there is now Cineminimaxi: a miniature film festival for the very youngest by Taartrovers at Eye that will screen fun, exciting, moving and artistic short films.
After watching the film, it’s playtime! Sample sumptuous new installations, play with sounds from the house, garden and kitchen and draw with seeds, pasta and beans. Follow your nose and brew your own cup of tea from aromatic herbs and spices. Has all that given you an appetite? Then you can make your own onigiri from rice and seaweed. Come along, cook and play – and bring your dad, aunt, sister, grandma, brother, uncle, friends, grandpa or mum too!
Draak Dries (3+)
Dries the Dragon wants to fly, roar and breathe fire like a proper dragon – and most of all for his teacher to see it. He wants to be a hero, but he’s really clumsy and try as he might, he just can’t manage it. Until one day it just happens! Together with a tough little girl he swings into action, and finally Dries really is a hero.
As with the other films from Magic Light, this animated film was made with a great deal of humour and attention to detail. The film closely follows young children’s rhythms and how they experience the world. A gem of a film that has already won several awards.
After the film, you can taste, test, play and create in the Cineminimaxi Landscape by Taartrovers.
With the films Draak Dries and Onigiri.
