Ingmar Bergman lived on the Swedish island of Fårö for over 40 years and shot multiple films there. Bergman first visited Fårö in 1960, whilst scouting locations for Through a Glass Darkly. It was love at first sight. “I cannot imagine my life and its course without Fårö," he said in a 2003 interview.
