Inland Empire
David Lynch / US, FR, PL, 2006 / 180 min.
A pulsating trip through the mind of once-popular Hollywood star Nikki Grace (Laura Dern), who becomes entangled in a cursed film - the screenplay actions have consequences in reality. Screening in tribute to David Lynch, Master of the Macabre.

When do dreams turn into reality and vice versa? And aren't all the films we see a mysterious amalgam of fantasy and real-life events that leave their mark on the imagination? Aren't 'real' and 'unreal' meaningless concepts used by people who derive support from a one-dimensionally narrowed perception of earthly existence?
These are some of the haunting, trippy and barely answerable questions that may arise for audiences of Inland Empire, David Lynch's three-hour magnum opus in which plot, chronology, logic and 'common sense' are discarded with a surrealist flourish.

In Memoriam David Lynch
The creator of classics such as Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive died on 15 January 2025 from complications of the lung disease COPD. Lynch, an inveterate chain smoker, was 78 years old. A number of films by the sympathetic Master of the Macabre can now be seen in Eye Classics.
