Mulholland Drive
David Lynch / FR, US, 2001 / 146 min.
Blonde Betty (Naomi Watts) arrives in Los Angeles to make it as an actress. She meets a confused brunette (Laura Harring) with amnesia. What follows is a dark story in which dreams are reality – or are they? Screening in tribute to David Lynch, Master of the Macabre.

Lynch treats us to a film that disrupts time and space, in which Hollywood can be both a dream and a reality built on dreams. The Hollywood term 'dream factory' gets its own Lynchian twist, with matching music by Lynch's regular composer Angelo Badalamenti.

In Memoriam David Lynch
The creator of classics such as Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead and Lost Highway died on 15 January 2025 from complications of the lung disease COPD. Lynch, an inveterate chain smoker, was 78 years old. A number of films by the sympathetic Master of the Macabre can now be seen in Eye Classics.
