Jacques Demy’s Lola captures intersecting lives in Nantes (his birthplace) with great flair. Anouk Aimée plays the singing cabaret dancer Lola ("C'est moi. C'est Lola") who awaits the return of a long lost love and is worshipped by another soul in love, the wandering Roland. And then there is the American sailor Frankie.
